Adult Services: Residential
Description
CranstonArc’s Residential Program provides supportive living environments for individuals of varying abilities. Supports promote community integration, independence, and growth. The program consists of a network of residential group homes, and semi-independent living arrangements. Depending on individual need, services hours range from four hours a week to twenty-four hours per day/seven days per week. Individuals receive assistance with daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, banking, recreational activities, and transportation, as well as clinical and medical supports. Individuals are encouraged to make choices that truly reflect their own wants, needs and desires, while continuing to strive toward achieving goals and gaining independence.
Residential services are funded through the Rhode Island Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) and offered to individuals with developmental disabilities who are 21 and older. Individuals must meet DDD's eligibility requirements, and be deemed eligible for residential services by the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD).
Individual planning is the basis of all support provided by CranstonArc. Each individual meets with their support team, family, friends, and advocates, to develop a plan for the upcoming year. Short, as well as long-term goals are discussed and planned for. Individual goals are reviewed on an on going basis and modified to address the ever changing wants and needs of the individuals support.
Semi-Independent Living
Semi-Independent living offers support to those individuals who do not require 24hr supports. Supports in this program are provided to address the unique needs and wants of the individual. Individuals may live in their own home or apartment individually or with housemates of their choosing. Individuals receive assistance with daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, banking, recreational activities, and transportation, as well as clinical and medical supports. Individuals are assisted with becoming as active a member in their communities as they choose to be.
Group Living
Group living offers support to those individuals who require 24hr supports 7 days per week. Supports in this program are designed to meet the unique needs and wants of the individual supported through the sharing of support hours. Group living arrangements range from 3-5 person homes. The sharing of supports enables individuals to obtain the maximum amount of supports while addressing individualized needs, wants and future goals. Individuals receive assistance with daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, banking, recreational activities, and transportation, as well as clinical and medical supports. Individuals are assisted with becoming as active in their communities as they choose to be.
